Swag Bucks

When I first became a stay at home mom 3 1/2 years ago (the first time), I tried everything to save and/or earn some extra money.  We were cutting our budget by A LOT (see my series HERE on how we cut $13,000 out of our yearly budget to make me staying home a reality).

I stumbled across Swag Bucks, and immediately loved it.  I still do it today, and I have earned tons of money in Amazon gift cards by only spending a couple minutes a day.  Recently I began making sure that I don't forget to earn a few Swag Bucks each day, as I'm using my Amazon gift cards that I earn to pay for Christmas this year.  With just a couple minutes most days, I can usually get between $10-15 in gift cards a month.  It's not a lot, but as a stay at home mom trying to make ends meet and do Christmas on a budget, it totally helps!

Here are the things I do each day for a couple "Swag Bucks" (SB):

Install the tool bar: gives you 1 SB every day when you open your browser
Daily Poll: Takes 10 seconds and gives you 1 SB
NOSO (No obligation special offers): Takes 20 seconds to skip past all the offers and get 2 SB
Search: Use their search engine for a quick search or two (5 seconds) and score between 5-15 SB on most days
SBTV (SwagBucks TV): I installed the app on my phone and it plays through videos (like trailers and such); every 5 videos it plays through I get 2 SB.  I just mute it and occasionally check on my phone to see if it's still going or if I got any texts or whatever.  This is the easiest way to get SB.
Coupons:  I just started using coupons more again lately as I'm trying to cut our budget a little more to add money to our savings account.  Instead of printing coupons from sites like coupons.com, print them directly from SwagBucks (same data base of coupons-it's hosted by coupons.com) and earn 10 SB for every coupon redeemed.  These add up REALLY quickly!

I redeem 450 points for a $5 Amazon gift card.  My husband also has a Swag Bucks account and earns SB and free gift cards, too.  It's something small, but you can really earn quite a bit if you just remember to do a few things each day.

If you are interested in Swag Bucks, click HERE to sign up and find more info.  It's totally free and I've never had any issue with spam mail or anything.

Have you ever used Swag Bucks?  What do you redeem your points for?  What's your favorite way to earn swag bucks?

  2. Since you are trying to save money, have you tried Bountiful Baskets (bountifulbaskets.org)? It's a produce buying co-op. For $15 you get a laundry basket full of fruits and vegetables. It saves my family a ton of money!
