Update on Benny's Knee

Three weeks ago Ben left his soccer game early with a knee injury.  It was Mother's Day.  Doesn't that kind of stuff always seem to happen on Mother's Day?  Anyway, after plenty of Dr's appointments, we know a little bit more about what's going on, and I wanted to share it here with you for the purpose of asking you to be praying for healing for Ben.

Ben tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL in his left knee.  His MCL has been completely torn, and it has retracted into his calf.  He also has a couple fractures in the knee, and a slight tear in his meniscus, as well.  Essentially, the only thing un-torn or broken is the LCL.  He had another MRI (this time with contrast) this week to check on his artery to ensure that there was no damage or blockage in that area.  We didn't hear back, so we're assuming that to be a good thing!

He will be scheduled for surgery sometime this week.  It will be a 4 hour surgery with 2 great doctors.

Out of all the concerns that a surgery might bring, my husband's main issue is with having to have a catheter.  Sigh.  I love his positive attitude.

Prayers would be appreciated.  For a quick healing and recovery.  For wisdom and skill for the surgeons. For favor and God's provision in the finances department.  And for my sanity.

Updated 5/3/12 @ 9pm to correct errors re: ligaments torn...I had them mixed up initially ;)
