"No Coupon Couponing" : CVS Deals

I know a lot of people who just don't have time to coupon.   And while I don't think couponing takes a TON of time, it does take time, especially in the beginning.  I thought that I would try out posting some deals that utilize sales & store rewards, but exclude hunting down coupons.  Make sense?  In other words, you can still save a lot of money simply by buying items on sales at drug stores like CVS & Walgreens.  I'll list a coupon of two for those of you who want to use coupons, too, but I'll mostly be attempting to help you save money without the expense of your time.  It's kinda like "No-Coupon Couponing" :)  Here are a couple deals this week at CVS:

• Buy 1 Gold Emblem Jelly Beans for $.99 and get $.99 ECB (ECB=Extra Care Bucks-i.e. a store credit coupon)

                                  Final Price:  FREE!

• Buy 2 Softsoap body wash or 4pk bar soap for 2/$7 and get $5 ECB  
• Coupon: $1.50/1 Softsoap Bar pack in the 2/12 Smart Source insert
• Coupon: $.50/1 Softsoap Body wash in the 2/12 Smart Source insert 

                         Final Price: $1 each without a coupon, or Free when you buy 1 of each & use coupons

•  Buy 1 CVS Jumbo Pack Diapers or Training Pants for $6.99 and get $2 ECB 

                                  Final Price:  $4.99

If you bought some jelly beans (save for easter!), 2 body washes (the pomegranate smells SO good), and a pack of CVS diapers (save for a babyshower?), you would spend $14.98 and get $8 in ECB (assuming you don't use any coupons).  ECB are essentially a store credit coupon that you can apply to any purchase.

Now, if you have a few extra moments to spend in the store, try doing 2 transactions like this:

Transaction #1:
Buy 1 jelly beans $.99
Buy 2 body wash $7

Pay $7.99, receive a $.99 ECB & a $5 ECB

Transaction #2:
Buy 1 CVS Jumbo pack diapers $6.99
        Use your $.99 ECB & your $5 ECB from your first transaction

Pay $1, Get $2 ECB (Save for your next trip!) 

If you break it up into 2 transactions like above, you will only spend $8.99 out of pocket, and you will leave with $2 ECB for your next trip!
